CHANDIGARH: While schools configure self for digital classroom, the human resource development ministry has developed e-learning platforms and home projects for students.

The projects relate to Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Jal Shakti Abhiyan, ban on single-use plastic, and Fit India. HRD ministry secretary Amit Kharey said: “We need to promote digital learning to let students continue their lessons while schools and colleges are shut during the fight against covid-19.” The ministry has posted a list of platforms for e-education.”

The login access to these resources is free. “Share this information with students and teachers to enable them to use these initiatives effectively,” Kharey told all state secretaries. Parents welcomed the move, as they observed that children are cooped up with nothing to during curfew. Poonam Dhaliwal of Sector 35, whose daughter studies in Class III, said: “We haven’t bought her books, so an online platform will be good to download that NCERT text and receive assignments.”
