Courses at IIITs

IIITs are more popular for their Engineering courses such as B.Tech, M.Tech and Dual Degree (B.Tech and M.Tech). Besides these programmes, IIITs also offer courses such as Bachelor of Design (B.Des), Master of Design (M.Des.), MBA (Masters of Business Administration) and

PhD (Doctorate of Philosophy).

IIIT Admission

Although the IIITs are autonomous, they are linked to each other through a common admission process. Candidates who want to get admission to UG programmes and Dual Degree (B.Tech and M.Tech) programmes need to qualify the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains exam. National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts JEE Main twice a year for admission to various programmes in IITs, IIITs, NITs, and CFTI.

Admission to M.Tech programmes is being done through the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) examination. Candidates who want to pursue MBA in IIITs need to qualify the Common Admission Test (CAT) exam. Admissions for PhD in IIITs are made through a regular admission process as well as Rolling mode. Regular Admissions for all disciplines are made in Mar-April and Nov-Dec every year. Institutes will conduct in house entrance examinations for PhD admission.

Candidates are advised to visit the respective website of IIIT to get more information regarding course specialisations and admission process.
