“While the HSC result is usually announced by the end of May and SSC the following fortnight, we started the assessment work only in May due to the lockdown. We are further trying to expedite the process. Our efforts are to declare the HSC results by mid-July and SSC by the end of July. Once the SSC results are announced, we hope to complete the junior college admission process in August and start the Class XI academic year thereafter,” said Gaikwad while addressing media persons in a virtual press conference.
Over 13 lakh and 17 lakh students appeared for the HSC and SSC exams across the state. While the HSC exams were over before the lockdown was in place, the state had to cancel the Geography paper for SSC students. The students will be awarded an average of their marks in other subjects as their score in Geography.
Last year, the HSC results were announced on May 28 while the SSC results were announced on June 8.
